Yes! But think of pollution in terms dosage. The smaller the dosage of oil the less significant the damage and the shorter the effects last. As they say in the haz waste biz "dillution is the solution to pollution".

Granted I would like to see more done, but bottom line is that if you did not plan for something like this and have the resources in place to respond adequately before the event, it just takes time.

Unfortunately until they either are able to activate the blow out preventer or build and deploy the funnel to attempt to control the flow of oil there is nothing that can be done that is going to have any real effect.

The burning of oil on the surface, oil booms and dropping chemicals from airplanes look good on TV but have little or not effect in this type of environment. The water is to rough and the winds and currents are to variable.

Yeah, the administration message seems to be "we've been engaged from Day 1." Hope they're working as hard on the spill as they are on the message.

If BP can't figure out how to stop the flow I doubt anyone in our current administration has a snow balls chance in hell and should shut up and let these men do their jobs.
