the only people who actually know whats going on are the people operating the rov's.
And Boudreaux the rov driver is emailing all his friends as soon as he hits the rack. "Mais, you ain't gonna believe what they done down there," followed immediately by "What mamma cooked?" and "Ya'll went by T'boy's yesterday?"

Hey, man. I wasn't trying to bust your chops. I just hadn't had my coffee yet. It's natural to think someone is hiding things from us when there is information we all really want to know.
But there is no simple answer to what we want to know, which is whether the top kill is working. They could talk it up about internal geometries and stroke rates, and we still wouldn't know. We would be left trying to puzzle it out just like the engineers are right now.
Props to you for asking the question. We are all better off if people ask questions. We are even much better off when they start listening for answers. Looks like you are doing that. Keep it going, bro.

I never saw the camera angle of the end of the riser when they were pumping the mud in the BOP. It was shown before and now after. Did I just miss it?
If mud was coming out of the crimp in the riser and out of the end then they were losing a lot of pressure.

I only heard reports that it was flowing from the end of the riser while they were pumping, but I never saw video.

they have a strap hooked up to the choke/kill hose.

Are they prepping to cut off the riser top?
Posted on 5/29/10 at 10:02 am to JudgeHolden
Or did they just hook up a new hose to the kill line?

doubt it. you don't have to remove the choke/kill hoses to remove the riser.

Does that look like a different hose to you going into the choke/kill? That is, different than the mud hose?

the choke and kill lines (hard pipe) run all the way down the riser on each side. they are then hooked up to the riser addapter (which is what you see in the feed) and are basically switched to armored hoses. that's what they are hooked up to. the choke/kill hose.
they must be trying to remove it. not sure why.

owe shite. they are going to cut the choke/kill off.

Judge or tigerdup, can you briefly explain in laymans terms what they are doing? Are they abandoning Top Kill? Thanks in advance.
Posted on 5/29/10 at 10:21 am to COTiger

Posted on 5/29/10 at 10:21 am to COTiger
