Correct. The rovs have a working arm and a stabilizing arm. The stabilizing arm grabs a structure and holds tight.

they tried to unlatch the choke hose but failed. it looks like they will cut that latch in order to remove the hose.

Looks like they are just gonna cut the fitting that holds the line. Just a guess though.

i bet that they are gonna try to pump something through the riser adapter to seal off the kink (which is right on top of the addapter)

I agree they are just losing too much out of that open end. If they get that riser clogged the top kill should work.
