So - Oil guys -- is that a good thing? What is happening right now. If it is mud coming out that means that oil is not coming out! Right?
I had a toilet that looked like that once, and that is my total experience with something like a BOP.

dup how do you decipher if it's mud or oil? they both look terrible!
because i've watched rov many many times.

And if it's freeflowing how will it just magically "stop" and cement off?
they are gonna have to "push" the oil with the kill mud back into the well bore so that the can pump the cement plug down. they originally said that this operation would take app 10-12 hours.

Mud looks gray, oil is very dark, gas is light, you're not going to see gas in this, This is drilling mud. I think 20 ppg mud so it;s the heaviest they make.

so 07 you think that view is from the top of the BOP where the riser bent over?

That is what it looks like. It is a race between the mud and the oil. If they get the oil tamped down before they run out of mud, well dead. GO MUD GO! DO YOUR STUFF!

Here's the response I got when I asked if pressure coming down was good.
"It means we are killing it."
"It means we are killing it."

We might not know until tomorrow if this is going to work or not.

Is this hematite, Back9tiger?

Those holes look small compare to the end of a riser. That looks like a lot of material coming out under tremendous pressure.
Again I dont know shite

My female brain does NOT get this ... if it's coming out it's coming out. If mud is coming out it's coming out ... don't get how it'll "push" the oil back into the well bore.
I appreciate the effort ... I guess I just need to quit asking questions!
Oh, and the ROLL MUD comment ...
