Posison 1 feed. It is by the open end of the shears and the bent piece of the riser is what you see leaving the screen to the right

When those 2 yellow pieces meet, the cut is made. Looks like about 6 inches to go, I'm strictly guessing by the view

the leak looks like a bad night after mexican food.

I think when the riser was pulled over it bent the top part... area of the flange and just below the flange.

yep, ;looks that way to me.
Almost done!!
Hope the bent piece isn't in teh way of finishing the cut

They may want to move the ROV from under that riser, or does it just seem it's under there?

Is the drill bit or anything gonna shoot out of that deal now that the kink is gone?
(is that even possible?)

Al Capones body might come out of there for all we know.

Naw. Geraldo Rivera would be nearby in a submarine if that was going to happen.

Riser is suspended by cables.

Are those shears that slow or are we in some kind of holding pattern?
Obutma must be taking a crap and didn't want to miss nothin.

Seems like its going to be awful hard to force a cap down over that pipe once they get it cut. Especially if they can't see what they're doing.

Hard to stay positive when everyday you wake up and expect to see their last "fix" in place and you see the shears of doom out again smashing pipe...

why couldn't they make so many very large containers (+10000 barrels), sink them to the bottom where the oil fills them up. they then float to the top to be unloaded. Why wouldn't this work?
In addition to the other good reasons this wouldn't work, keep in mind that the oil is jetting out with many times the force of a sandblaster, which is what overcame all the Top Kill mud. Anything you put down there to capture it would have to be very massive - an oil barrel would simply be blown about like it's in a tornado.
