Went and stayed on Ono Island a couple days ago and got back yesterday. Saw a bunch of those orange barriers set up around Flora-Bama. And Ono had some barriers set up as well. Saw a lot of people cleaning up. Overall, that place was dead though. Feel bad for the businesses around there, seemed like the whole place was a ghost town. Just thought I'd pass this along.

My sister is on orange beach now, she says it's the clearest she has even seen the water. I sure hope she takes lots of pics.

Just got back from Destin and had the complete opposite experience. The bars were packed and people were everywhere. We saw booms out but I didn't get the sense that anyone was really worried.

I live a mile from Navarre Beach and had lunch beach side at Pensacola Beach today. Both beaches were packed and are more beautiful than I have seen in years. Please don't cancel your vacation plans to this area yet...

What do you expect when you stay on ONO? I go there for fishing and a house party. Don't need the Flora-Bama scene anymore. I do hope that the oil spill doesn't frick it up....beautiful place...especially when you have your own offshore "reef".
