Will be calling my brother that lives down in Da Parish. Will tell him to head north, but I'm sure he will not.

Get ready NOLA folks. Hurricane warnings going up in this package and storm surge warnings. Bet there's going to be some rage from the phones yelling at us here soon. Don't know why they always put them out with the 4 am package for us.

Nola metro reporting back in...

Although we would all rather this storm and the incoming cold front sheering to have synced up better, I do like that the early impacts will start late Wednesday afternoon during daylight and that center of circulation will then be far removed into Alabama at 1am Thursday.

Lot of day drinking going to be taking place around here on Wednesday. I’ll be doing my part

Pretty sure he was given the option to come back just for this storm. The man is legit sticking to his ban.

Gotta say, this is a really chill thread for everything showing a hurricane impacting New Orleans in two days.

I think plenty of people In SE Louisiana will be having an oh shite moment in a few hours.

I agree about 10 am people in Ascension Parish will collectively lose their minds. Walmart and Rouses better stock the shelves.

I'll never understand why interior parishes freak out about hurricanes more than terrebonne, Lafourche and Jefferson.

I’m up & waiting patiently for the store to open so that I can go buy a couple gallons milk & 3 loaves of bread

One of the bonuses for October storms is Halloween candy makes excellent hurricane snacks

Candy bars make an excellent addition to the milk sandwiches without a doubt.

Go the the circle k, and get some Bordens milk. It's cheaper by the gallon there then it is at the grocery stores or Walmart.

It’s mainly these two. But as others have stated, we are going to be rethinking our position in less than 12 hours.

I have seen many a storms, even regular thunderstorms, seem to dissipate right before the coast of Terrebonne. I have no explanation for it. Hoping an Easterly jog but it’s going to be moving so fast it may not have time.

Are they not issuing warnings just yet to avoid waking people or am I missing something?

From storm2k. TIFWIW

quote:

Over land and convection firing on top of the CoC.
Outflow is improving by the minute.
Due in large part by being in the middle of the ARWB as indicated by the close proximity of the anti-cyclone.
Outflow is moistening the GoM. CAPE already at 4000.
Also pushing back the Rossby Wave.
Will have major implications on intensity and track changes.
Going to hit the water running.

What are your thoughts on the intensity track changes? Further east/west? How about intensity?

With it pushing back the Rossby Wave, good chance the track will be more west.
Also, a better chance intensity will be higher than currently anticipated.

I don’t think ascension has anything to worry about. Delta was three times as bad as this will be here in ascension.
