Did Andrew's eyewall pass over Baton Rouge?
I think so
Baton Rouge is 70 miles due north of Morgan City
Morgan City is 20 miles due north from the mouth of the Atchafalaya

That’s an amazing shot. Hurricanes are an incredible act of nature.

You do realize roughly 500K customers are out of power?

Does anybody in N.O. have enough of a light source to tell how the old live oaks did?
Already cleaned up 5 contractor bags full, saving the rest for tomorrow

Approximately 800,000 power outages in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. It’ll probably be over 1 million by tomorrow morning.

This has to be the first time ever where it snowed in Texas at the same time a named tropical storm made landfall On the gulf coast

We just got home driving from BR. Not much traffic and easy drive. A bit of wind but we have power and internet. Off river road in covington. But neighbors a few streets over are out. WST coop. Weird how some have power and others dont.

Congrats. It could have been way worse. I have seen the streets lined with piles that are 8-10 feet high. This is why I was asking.
I also realize that a lot of N.O. still has power. That means the Entergy outage map I linked earlier is correct.
