Looks like the center of the cone shifted a little west from the last forecast.

Wind graphs from the National Weather Service. NSW Link
Why are they double the forecast of almost everywhere else?

Windfinder, weather, the NHC, etc all are about at half the forecast predictions for Mandeville and metairie etc

You have been pretty bad in this thread. All of your predictions and chart readings have been wrong.

NHC track shifted west 13 miles at landfall and close to 20 miles closer to NOLA. Has it going over Chalmette.

From the NHC 10 am discussion...

quote:

The official intensity forecast is near the high end of the model
guidance.

So if other major sources are interpreting the guidance in other ways, they could be forecasting lower speeds. NHC is saying they are bullish. I would assume NWS forecasts are in line with the NHC.

The big positive for this storm is the speed though. You're only looking at a few hours of bad adverse effects for most people. Depending on how close you are to the coast of course.

To be fair, pretty much all forecasts until the past day or so were saying this storm would weaken closer to the coast due to the water temps and dry air out west

It still is likely to weaken slightly towards coast or at least stop strengthening the last few hours here
