Well of course it seems amazing. Zappos operates like Amazon; at a loss (in retail). Everyone loves it the service but they don’t make money doing it it. It is not sustainable. Enjoy why it lasts.

If it does sustain (ie put others out of business) then prepare for price hikes to recoup the initial investment.

Moral- if it is too good to be true, it probably is.

I know all the shipping back and forth and extra service cost them something but I don't find their prices any cheaper than my locally owned shoe store.

I bought a pair of Asics Nimbus not available anywhere else and these

It is pretty awesome to buy them at 6 pm one night and they are on your doorstep the next afternoon. Zappos is pricey though.

I buy nice shoes. Define expensive.

I do still like to stay in style and shite. You want me to wear some all gray shoes with velcro or something? I have a few pair of Puma, some sperrys, dress shoes, and I even bought a pair of doc martins a few years ago for when I don't want too dressy but don't want tennis shoes. Say what you want about doc martins, but that's a well made shoe.

Yet they’ve been around for 18 years and have a billion in revenue.
Looks like they’re on life support alright

I purchased a jacket from them last year, and received the wrong jacket. They gave me a refund, sent me the correct jacket and told me to keep the wrong one they already sent.
