Seems like a thread to bash Zachary. That fight could have been at almost any public school. We had them in the late 60’s and early 70’s when I attended Zachary High. Not a typical late “60’s fight mind you but there were fights at football games then too. It was a one on one deal back then but didn’t look a whole lot different than this one except all the kids were white.
Zachary has some challenges for sure due to the success of the schools. Many new people have come in and everybody doesn’t know their momma and daddy like it was in the 60’s. Black and white.
Zachary has traditionally had good race relations and low crime. It’s going to be challenging but where isn’t it challenging?

I assume you haven’t lived there in a while? There is a councilman who has called almost every leader, elected or not, in the city a racist at this point, waived a gun on Facebook live inviting a citizen to come to his house, talked about headshotting from distance from the skills he obtained in the navy, etc. The council meetings have become a joke. We will see what people think of him this November.
The Sadvocate gets a fair amount of material out of the City of Zachary these days.

Well it has been a few years but i have significant interest in Zachary as well and the councilman you are referring to will be gone IMO. It only takes one or two bad actors to make things appear worse than reality. I have faith that Zachary has enough sane, mature leaders to hold the line. Changes are coming for sure and how the changes are handled will tell the tale. I’m still confident and hopeful. The good folks in Zachary will be there to handle the challenges.

Brother - I hope so on all accounts. I think this November everything will become a bit more clear.
