Youth Baseball Fun (Drama at The Ball Park)

This stuff is unreal
1. We picked up a kid who's parents are divorced, mom is remarried to an antagonistic MF'er and they all show up to watch Jr play ball.
By the 2nd inning about five of Texas's Finest show up and everyone is staring and wondering what's going on.
The dad called the cops because he has a 200 ft rule on the step dad (restraining order) and the step kept violating it. Apparently he had walked by him and made a comment about his shoes
They had to stop the game and discuss it with the coaches, they all stayed but the poor kid was so embarrassed he could barely function.
2. Coach gets in Kid's arse about sliding and blocking at catcher, kid pops off at coach and gets benched, then pops off again and gets benched for the next game.
Dad comes over and tells the kid to pack his shite, quits the team right in the middle of a game, dad drags kid to the car by his collar cussing every step.
We are just getting started too

I promise you-if your kid stays with it what you saw today will seem harmless compared to what you will see in the coming years. Buckle up.

I hear these stories all the time. My kid has been playing baseball for 10 years, city ball, some travel ball and now high school and summer ball. I never see this stuff. I guess I’m lucky.

Meh....I can top that.
We were playing in a school Summer league, and were maybe 13 or 14. A kid on our team and friend of mine had parents who were in the process of splitting up. His mom had literally caught him fricking another woman in their bed and had thrown him out. Anyway, a couple months (at most) later we had a game and both his parents were there. Well, the other woman showed up. His mom and her ended up brawling in the bleacher area, and his mom had his little brother who was at most a year old on her hip. Police got called but they all left with my friend still on the field, he ended up staying with us that night.

Did she at least spit the Benson & Hedges out before going to pound town?

What is crazy/sad about that whole situation is that his mom was not that kind of person before all that happened. Hell, she wasn't that type person after it all settled out. You'd talk to her before or after and never believe she was capable of that. I know it embarrassed her then and it does now. That whole situation made her temporarily insane.

Literally none of that happened

I think I can understand that. Blind out of body rage has hit us all I would bet. Picturing the hair pullin' while balancing a baby under an arm is both cringy but kind of admirable in a way. Momma bears are a mystery.

It legit blew everyone's mind. She had kept most of the particulars to herself. I guess people knew they were splitting, but that incident let all the particulars out. It was sad, really. She ended up marrying another guy and having another kid. They are still together the last I heard.
Now, the other woman was 100% trash. His dad wasn't much better.

Sounds like it's over to me.
[As a child of a "good" divorce, shite like this makes me sad. My parents weren't together but coexisted amicably, which goes a LONG way in helping a kid feel normal]
