re: You're 18-25 - prime partying age - what era do you choose? 60s/70s/80s/90s?

I find it hard to believe the weed was stronger back then, with all the legal shite that is modified and grown in labs these days. I even remember the weed in the 90s being weaker than what is around now.

Well I'll stick with my Gen Xtc era late 80s early 90s scene. Looking back we had it fricking great!
I agree 100% it was great.... until AIDS fricked it up for a few years.

But I had a great time in the 2000s. No social media quite yet. Was there, but we didn't have access on our phones. Cell phones were there, so it was easier to link up. They couldn't really do anything but call or text, so people weren't on them 24/7.
That definitely deserves a seat at the table. Its was fun, and tech facilitated the fun without taking it over.

I was a baby in the 90s yet even I realize the vast changes between pre-9/11 America and post-. May have been that or the smartphones a few years later but 90s and before definitely beat out coming up at that age in the 2010s.
1970's catching every rock concert i can

No bras 70s. And for that reason, I choose 70s.

was there really a more relaxed view on drugs?
There was definitely not a more relaxed view on drugs in the 70s. I feel like other drugs besides weed were more prevalent then than now, but even weed was considered "the devil" by most adults. Now weed is really not looked down on nearly as much. Heck, it's legal in many places.

I hated disco, but the late 70's disco clubs were true party destinations.
Everybody loves to hate on disco now (except me). But as someone who turned 18 in 1979, it was really, really fun! Clubs were packed. They hardly even check IDs and because the drinking age was 18, it was really easy to get into clubs my senior year of HS. Clothes were awesome...think of Sandy at the end of grease. Those tight jeans and high heels.
If I could go back, I might go back a few extra years where I was 18 in maybe 74-75.

You arent getting aids unless you like a dick in your arse bro
While that may be true (or if you don’t have a heroin problem), the people in the 80s largely didn’t know that thanks to the wonderful Anthony Fauci. Fauci told parents to disown gay uncles because they could infect their kids just with physical contact whether they had HIV or not. How the gay population fell for Fauci is uniquely shameful since they knew EXACTLY who that genocidal maniac was when Covid started.

80's. Avoid certain behavior and AIDS is a non issue. The country was thriving, people had money. Music was peaking. Prime!

I think you are more remembering the late 70s and early 80s. Yes, weed was a concerts, etc. But it was very down low. It wasn't everywhere like now, out in public. It wasn't accepted at all by anyone very adult or mainstream like now. The age you were during most of the 70s, you really wouldn't remember weed, I don't think. Weed also was less strong then and less likely to have had anything added to it.

pretty much what I recall, it was rampant, especially at LSU, but people were pretty discreet about it because

Late 90s/early 2000s party scene was unique in that there was a rave scene with EDM music which made parties more vibrant. American Pie made everyone want to party regardless of how old they were.

Those concerts in the 70s had to be fricking awesome but I was too young.
Literally inside a coliseum, passing a community joint down each row. On the really good ballads everyone stood and held their lighters in the air. I truly miss everyone holding their lighters in the air at a concert. Sorry, but phones just aren't the same. I remember going home and trying to put my clothes in with other stuff really quickly because they smelled light all kinds of smoke.

When AIDs first came out, nobody was really sure how you got it. Some thought it was airborne and others suspected mosquitos. It had a 100% fatality rate and was scary as Hell.
