Is that honestly true, though? Non TAF giving to LSU is in the toilet generally and the Greeks get dicked with a lot (unlike the Greeks at Alabama, for instance) for a group with supposed juice so does anybody have some honest to goodness numbers on that?
I know Sorority alums who care about their sorority. All of my friends who were in a fraternity rarely even hangout with their old frat bros. They don't seem to care at all about it. I am one person. Maybe others have different examples. My point is, I doubt the guys I know give a dollar to their fraternity at this point.

And who's gonna go to a university (esp the size of LSU), where they can't experience the full "college experience"?
The 95% of students who go there and don't give two shits about greek life.

My understanding is yes, mostly from sorority side of things but I don't have hard numbers to back that up. Those might prove me wrong.

Considering greeks make up between 20-25 percent of the student body and lots of non-greeks still benefit from greek events, I'd say your numbers are way off.

Frats are for sheep who need a shepherd to show them the way and other sheep to feel comfortable.
I was GDI and banged more chicks, drank and smoked more weed and did more X than any sheep did.
Go out and get it on your on Frat Boy

Did/Do you participate in a fraternity or sorority at LSU? Will the system be purged by the university? If so, how long from now will that occur? Assuming it will inevitably go underground if the purge occurs, are more clandestine and unregulated organizations a greater threat to student safety than the current system?
Yes
No. Greek alums have serious clout at university.
Yes

oh, excuse me... the 80% of students who don't give a shite about greek life. My point is, you don't have to be part of an exclusive group of douche bags to get the full college experience.

this is true. I think the Frat Alum/Chapter Advisers are going to have to step up. If the alums want to see the system continue then they have to own what the current frat officers are doing. This is how the sororities do it and it works.

No fricking way I'd get involved in the day-to-day of my chapter. (1) I was one of the "problematic" officers, and it's impossible to stop kids living in a house together 24/7 from doing whatever the frick they want (2) I'm not going to tell someone they can't experience the same shite that I treasure to this day

Buncha figs with no originality whatsoever. They all look like they just came off an assembly line

1) yes
2) hope it does
3) don't care

So if they purge the Greeks does that include black sororities and fraternities?

You may not read this, but could you please explain.
I never got around to it, but I have always wanted to know how sorority row pledges differ from frats.
I have heard the occasional "freshman buffet" and other sexual jokes.

The LSU Greek system isn't going anywhere. Pledges die every year and nobody has shut down their Greek system because of it.
Will it suck to be a Greek for the near future? Absolutely. LSU is going to go in dry on everybody, despite their innocence in this situation.
Will it be completely removed? Absolutely not. The donations they get from Greek alumni alone are way too large of a sum to ignore.

The level of involvement with greek life does depend on the university in question. However, you do make a point that the majority of the student body would not be effected.
I wonder, is there a steady decline in frats in sororities due to other factors?
Colleges that are against Greeks
