You’re fact is flawed.

Here’s my reasoning:

0.85858... = 1

0.85858... / 3 = 0.3333...

0.3333... = 1/3

1/3 * 3 = 1

because he put an end to the amoral treasonous bastards in the south. He should have just let Sherman burn them all.

William Tecumseh Sherman was the first President of LSU. He left his post to join the Union Army and torch the treasonous South.

One of the most courageous and respectable persons ever associated with LSU. A true lover and patriot of his country.

Sherman was a traitor to the south and used his LSU experience as intel to wreak havoc upon our southern citizenry.

That’s the reason LSU doesn’t have Sherman Hall or Sherman St.

As a traitor to an enemy of his country solely for purposes to benefit his country, certainly makes him a hero.

Sherman set race relations back 74 years.
Fact.

Eli Whitney truly freed more people in the south than anyone else.

Sherman's view of slavery.

Sherman was a white supremacist. “All the congresses on earth can’t make the negro anything else than what he is; he must be subject to the white man,” Sherman wrote his wife in 1860. “Two such races cannot live in harmony save as master and slave.” In a letter to his antislavery brother-in-law about plans to bring his family to Louisiana, Sherman crassly joked about becoming a slave master himself. Making light of the problems he anticipated in keeping white servants, he wrote that his wife Ellen “will have to wait on herself or buy a n*****r. What will you think of that — our buying n******s?”

My favorite such story:

In possibly the weirdest childhood friend story ever, Ed McMahon was a high school buddy of...

Beatnik novelist Jack Kerouac.

Can you imagine their conversations?

KEROUAC: "There is beatific oneness that unites my soul with the totality of the universe."

MCMAHON:: "You are correct sir!"

KEROUAC: "It is an overpowering sense of cosmos destroying my spiritual dichotomy."

MCMAHON: "That it is"
