When I first saw those iceman docs years ago i was fascinated with his story. After reading a lot about him and basically cross referencing his stories with known mafia hits and facts, you realize a lot of his 'hits' were complete bullshite.
Dont get me wrong, the dude killed a lot of people and was a deranged psychopath, but his story isnt as 'grand' as he makes it out to be.
Yep, with richard, I do believe he worked for DeMeo at times, but not like he makes it out to be and he sure as frick didnt kill Roy. Also about 50% of the stories he tells are bullshite. But still a scary guy.
But Tommy Karate...crazy mother fricker. Didnt rat either and turned down tons of offers from the feds.

Demeo and his crew were the top dogs imo of the contract killers at the time.

Damn. Not mafia, but my parents had lunch with Barry Seal on February 19, 1986.
They're lucky the Colombians didn't show up sooner. Unlike the mob, the Colombians didn't give a frick if civilians got caught in the crossfire.

I was drunk one night and asked the bartender at Cat's Meow if the Marcello family still ran New Orleans. He leaned over in my ear and said" I know you're just be curious but there are some questions you don't ask around here". I immediately got up and left my $10 dixie cup sized mixed drink and walked away.
and I bet that bartended cracked up at your tourist arse

Along with dinner, they had several bottles of wine, and several shots of Louis XIII after dinner. The tab came to almost $2,500, and they left a generous % tip on top of that.
Well we can eliminate frank lucas and his crew from this story

He actually spoke at our church once. Daughter was smoking hot, and in waaaay too short of a dress.

When my dad was growing up, he went to a wedding for a cousin of his in Luling. Apparently, his other cousin, who was the brother of the bride worked for Marcello. Wedding turned out to be way fancier than the family could afford too but apparently they had some help. When they walked in, he saw the New Orleans mayor in attendance as well as Marcello himself. They never went to another function hosted by that family again after that.

I assume my grandparents didn't want their kids to get mixed up in all of the mess.

I gotcha. A similar thing I guess happened at my grandfathers funeral. My grandmother had C. Marcello removed from the funeral. I guess she was finished with the mess

That movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a mob financed movie apparently. It was either some kinda money-laundering operation or they just wanted to make a movie but it became a cult-classic and a successful movie franchise.

For shear brutality, the story or Roy Demeo the mob killer who's body count may never truly be known.
He was particularly brutal, often cutting up his victims after he killed them and apparently thinking nothing of it while doing so.

Ah that explains your interest. I notice you always get involved in mafia threads. Very cool connection.

Also a devoted father apparently. His son had a breakdown when a book about him came out.

This is more of a weird Mafia story.
When i was a child, this one family car bombed a guy on 1-55, in South County(stl suburb), and the fricking car and his body was every where. We lived 1 minute from the area.
When i was a yute, they car bombed a guy down our street, who was part of that first bombing. Wasn't a big explosion, but dude fried in the car as it caught fire. They said you could see his black figure in the flames.
When i was in HS, the family of guy who was car bombed down the street from us, bombed the family who was car bombed in first story, right down the street on Reavis Barracks/Mackenzie.
Thought it was weird as frick that all 3 car bombings were in same vicinity as us or right down the street.
