That is not the draw of the card. You get points but they are probably the least valuable part of the cards offerings.
I use the business gold Amex card for points. Platinum card for perks.

Looks like we’re twins although I did just cash in 400k Amex points for a trip to Spain in May.
My tickets to Montreal were about half price using points over trying to book.
Although the freaking hotel decided to cancel this week and the GP has made all other hotels high as giraffe...horns right now.
Delta sky miles AMEX platinum.

Between wife and kids $7-9K per month. Pay it off every month. 823 credit score.
Posted on 3/11/22 at 8:16 pm to Turf Taint
Probably an average balance of $3500. It’s paid to zero each month. shite keeps climbing. Wife and 6 kids will do that though.

$1000+/- but paid off each month. I like the cash back so I don’t go with the debit card much anymore.

I'm curious to know what people putting $5-10k a month on a CC are actually spending that money on.
I get the whole cash back rewards and travel points as long as you pay the balance every month angle. I'm more interested in what these expenses are. I spend like $1000 a month on gas, groceries, staples, entertainment and clothes.
Do you guys have like 10 kids or something?

About $2700, paid off monthly though. Thats material for my fence.

You’re somehow cheaper than me

My wife and I have 1 child and put between 15k-20k per month on the Amex.
Honestly it doesn’t feel like my lifestyle is different from when we were broke except now our impulse buys are $1500-2000 instead of $15-20
shite just adds up

A lot of people who run 5-10k a month are using it for business travel, pay it off and get reimbursed from their company. My buddy did it for years and had a Marriott Amex for his hotel and delta Amex for flights. He only used/stayed at deta and Marriott. When he got married they flew first class somewhere and stayed at a luxury marriott for two or three weeks.

I would like to ask anyone who is able to put their mortgage on their card, who are you with? Mine got sold to nationstar/mr copper and I am unable to use any card, it has to be a draft or check from an account.

I've never heard of being able to put a mortgage on a card
You can do some tricky stuff with venmo/paypal type stuff, but directly paying with a card is something I haven't come across yet.

We have 12K in revolving debt currently on 0% interest. When it goes off 0% in October, it'll be paid for cash. Why should I even bother before then?
We have an Amex Platinum and Amex Gold. Between both, its $6,000-8,000 a month, depending.
All of our bills go on there with exception of mortgage, so again, kind of a useful tool and not us vacationing to Cabo or buying cool crap all the time. We do eat out a lot.

This is why I love the OT, 10 pages of 850 credit scores and dudes dropping 5-10k a month on credit and paying it off….
All from the poorest state in the country, lol

Bingo!
And every one of these MFers has 6% body fat, married an OT 8 who gives them daily sex and weekly bjs, and makes $250k a year before bonuses.
But at the end of the day, they're all terrified of their family, friends and co-workers finding out they post here.
