No not from N.O.

I had done some research, but it's been a few years and I forgot where he painted his horse race collection. He was a French artist though.

I have had some great finds over the years. Best ever was a baggie of Star Wars Droids Animated Series figures. Paid 3 dollars, sold them for about 1200.

ShopGoodwill now allows private sellers, but you have to apply to sell and I'm sure they take a cut.

I've gotten into jewelry the last couple years, but I feel guilty when I find a 14kt gold ring or something (unless it's some rich, snooty neighborhood). I will tell the seller they have gold. Last weekend I found a antique 10kt gold ring in Magnolia Woods. I tell the seller and she was like, that's fine. I paid the $10 and sold it 10 minutes later to another guy that does garage sales, he only looks for gold. He gave me $50.

This is one of my best finds. It's a numbered print from Raoul Dufy. It's from his horse racing collection. I saw one on EBay awhile back and the guy was asking $750, but his wasn't numbered. He didn't know anything about it really, nor do I. I could only find that the original is in some museum. Paid $10. There is framing receipt taped on the back from the framing company. Somebody paid $60 to frame it back in the day.
Did you know anything about the artist when you bought it? Nice find.

I don't look at the artwork too much nowadays. I was in Austin a couple years ago and there was an antique portrait of a woman there, that was an original oil painting on canvas that looked like it was 100+ years old. I couldn't find any info on my phone about the artist, so I didn't buy it. But it was beautiful. Looked like it belonged in a museum. Probably should have paid the $15 for it anyway.

If you like it and its cheap, buy it, Hell, if its expensive and you like it buy it.

But artwork is hard to flip, to each their own, so you never know. I would have bought it just to investigate the artist.

Not goodwill but I found a Donald trump signature series tie ($90 new) for $2 at Savers. This was a year before he announced he was running for president.

I wonder how much I could fetch for it on eBay.

Got a Stokke stroller for $20 when my wife was pregnant with our second one.

Its a $1000 stroller. We used it until we didn't need it anymore and sold it for $600. A little girl had to go around in a blue stroller, but it was a great find.

Never heard of him before. Not into art much, but I kind of liked it. It was numbered, and somebody paid decent money at that time to frame it, so I said what the hell. It could use a better frame, and I have grown to like it more than I ever thought I would.

In that entire lot, there is probably2-3 pieces all those bidders are after. The seller mentions Miriam Haskell, which is very valuable, and I think the fish flask is also probably sterling silver.

I once did find two Miriam Haskell broach pins in Walden Estates. I didn't know who she was but the quality was amazing. I paid $1 each and sold them for $200 each. I am now a somewhat of a Miriam Haskell expert.

I found one last week in Magnolia Woods. I paid $1. They are worth about $30

(actually my 14 yo daughter found it).

My daughter is hooked on garage sales as well. She found that tie last week as well a a Mexican Sterling sliver necklace for $5 ($50 - $100 value)

If you ask her, her greatest find was a few months ago. You know all these "Southern Marsh", "Southern Lady" etc tee shirts all the kids wear now? They are $40+ at the stores. She found 15 of them, pretty much brand new for $1 each ($500+ new). She kept all of those.

I go to find popular collectible dolls that need tlc. I buy them for a few bucks, recondition them and sell them for hundreds.

I have also bought the jars of tangled jewelry and found gold items with precious jewels but were so messed up and dirty that they looked like trash.

I bought a bag of old buttons that contained a few old or foreign coins in the, One was a solid gold coin
