Guidry’s immediate thought was that someone was breaking into her luxury SUV

I think you're being generous. She probably did so grudgingly. People with her level of narcissism don't quit without being forced to do so. Question is, who got to her?

Damn. That was quick. I seriously thought she'd be the type to flutily fight it.

She's been in denial the whole time while justifying her actions or lack thereof. This story snowballed in the last 48 hours and the news media & social media were all over it. The body cam videos went viral and made her look extremely bad. Once the mayor called the emergency meeting for today, she had no choice and waved the white flag.

This means more gas being thrown onto the Police Chief's fire, and this is a battle he won't win. I predict he will resign very soon. Otherwise, the Mayor's requested investigation into Ricky's actions will dig up more skeletons, ethics violations, and corruptness that plagues Louisiana small towns. Ricky should be meeting with his counsel right now and having someone write his resignation letter. If not done by 5pm today, the emergency council meeting should be very interesting.

Absolutely. Her resignation letter is just her stating what a great job she did while on the council. If it weren't for those pesky body cameras, no one would have ever known that she didn't hold herself to the high standard she sets for herself .

The indignation and narcissism coming through is palpable. She's only sorry that she has finally been held accountable for her shitty behavior for once.

Hell yeah she does, and I honestly don't have a big problem with that. But to blow off the lady whose car she hit and then ridicule two cops, the bitch got what she deserved. Favoritism is one thing, shitting on people for no reason should have gotten her tased.

yep, all she had to do was tell the truth and cooperate with the officers on scene. Additionally, she should have immediately gotten out of her vehicle, apologized to Guidry, exchanged insurance information, and at worse she would have recv'd a ticket for careless operation. Claims filed with both insurance companies, vehicles repaired, and no one would have known about this.

Instead, Reaux immediately called the CP, corroborated a story, did not cooperate with the officers, took her 30 minutes to find her proof of insurance card, and continued to tell lie after lie until it blew up in her face.

The police chief looks a little more foolish so I could see him digging his heels in. Ultimately though, he will meet the same resignation fate.

as someone else pointed out, being a City Councilman is basically a hobby

being chief of police is his career, much bigger deal to him

The chief has plenty of service time to retire with his full pension, it really is just a question of how much shite does he want to eat to keep his job?

No it isn’t. There are tons of cool OT posters who try to act uppity all the while living in places that lack half the shite Youngsville has. Like tax paying citizens, comfortable living, easy access to amenities, yards, less traffic.

We got a mother fricking Waffle House this morning!!! Opening day!!!!

We getting a hotel!!!!

Where life is sweeter baby.

Youngsville is a great place to raise a family in Louisiana even if we have some new Iberia transplants. I don’t get all the hate. Maybe it’s jealousy but we aren’t all Sugar Mill Pond types. I don’t care for them either because I can never get a brisket quesadilla from agave in under 40 minutes because bunch of Karen’s clogging up parking lot with golf carts.

Got an update on the roundabout incident:

quote:

On the above date & time, Officers with the Youngsville Police, responded to a reported Hit and Run Traffic Crash that took place at the intersection of Chemin Metairie and Détente Road. The suspect vehicle drove straight through the Youngsville Sport Complex Sign in the roundabout. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Guilliot Road near Geaux Fresh with major damage to the front bumper, grill, hood roof amd fenders. The suspect vehicle had paint transfer from the sports complex sign and based on evidence from the crash scene the driver was cited with a violation of LARS:14:100 HIT N RUN. La. E Crash Report to follow.

Direct from chief:
quote:

I chose not to disclose the drivers name until it was adjudicated in court. This has now happened and I will redact the address and personal information but send you the rest. As you will see an arrest was made and this case is now closed. I tried to protect her from the ridicule that would undoubtedly follow the release of her name.

I have the name but google and social media doesn't pull anything. She apparently lives in a trailer park right by my neighborhood.

i grew up in youngsville, we moved there in 1979

two things made youngsville explode in growth, some of the big family farms started selling land to developers for subdivisions and people from Lafayette started moving to the country. The first big development was Cajun Estates in the late 70s and then Copperfield in the mid-80-s

the second big thing they did was tear down the old Youngsville High school building and build a new 5th to 8th Grade school building in 1985. There were neighborhoods being built all around Youngsville through the 80s and 90s but nothing crazy. It really took off when the public schools in the city started going to shite and people started moving to the country to send their kids to Youngsville and Milton public schools.

Unfortunately infrastructure hasnt kept up and the bottle necks on Hwy 92, Hwy 89 and Hwy 339 has only gotten worse with no end in sight. It is funny to me that YPD went from 3 units and 3 full time cops to 36 full time employees in ~30years for the same square mileage.

Not to mention LPSO and LSP also patrol the Youngsville area
