In hindsight, I guess we should thank them for wearing the mask. It identifies them as simpletons, but also is a reminder as to how easy it is to passively control a section of humanity at any time with a lie based on base fears.

Because it's an outward, visible sign of the fear that's been perpetrated on our population for the past 2+ years and it's demoralizing!! They may as well write I'M SCARED across their forehead. I'm 50+ and have seen several pandemics in my lifetime yet have never seen people out in public masked up, so why now??

maybe you should wear a mask in public so others can identify you as an idiot.
i still see people with masks on at the grocery store. Saw a family with 2 little ones masked up to go see Minions this past weekend. I don't care what you do, but that doesn't mean i can't come here and call you an idiot for the things you do. You're free to call me an idiot as well for the things i do.

I never judge people wearing masks. You never know what sort of health issues people have.
Had a guy who was the last to wear a mask show up for work donning one. He said his kid had it, he himself tested negative, but if one of us got it he didn't want to look like he didn't take some precautions. Just seeing him in a mask told us to keep our distance until we found out the deal.
At this point, I give anyone with a mask a wide berth

My wife was wearing a mask around me when I had covid. She never got it.
