No, they increased dramatically. Have you been paying attention to what's been going on over the past couple of years?

And this was written in January. You can go ahead and add New Orleans to the increasing as well

The myth that the homeless and transients are wonderful people who have fallen on hard times - what a crock. When the Shreveport Rescue Mission moved downtown, the area became saturated with transients, drifters, women with no known address, and street urchins.
Two weeks after the Rescue Mission opened, all the windows of the nearby buildings were broken (except for those above rock chunking range).

Salt Lake City is a sh*t hole with homeless. Whole place looks like a Woodstock convention. Every side walk and grassy area has literally dozens of camped out. Every park has area has 100's. Here this week and was surprised how shitty downtown area has become.
Really? We didn't see that many last Nov while we were there.
Just got back from Boulder/Denver. It was depressing watching all the homeless guys piss everywhere Saturday night after the Rockies game. There were a bunch.

I've never heard this myth.

Yeah. The homeless and transients in both cities are seasonal. They leave when it gets cold, around October. The only homeless you'll see in either place in winter, are the truly mentally ill.

You do realize they're usually mentally ill? Most should probably be on medication. But they're crazy and can't hold down a job. So they go untreated.
There are plenty of people that have fallen on hard times, and didn't have family to help prep themselves back up. But I don't think anyone thinks that's the majority of homeless.

Sounds like Jeff Sessions has gotten to the OP too.

Basically no where to go but up
To compare, New Orleans alone had 164 for 2015

The Denver Post is a shitty paper. Absolutely pathetic for a city of that size.

Working with the Jimmie Hale Mission here in Bham is an eye opener. The director there told me on many occasions that just handing stuff out to the homeless was the worst thing you could do for them.

Scrolled through this thread and was surprised to not see HippieTiger already in here being a pretentious douche.

Some Colorado lawmakers, police and legal experts partly blame the marijuana industry, claiming that it has lured transients and criminals to the state.
Legalize it federally and this goes away.

dramatic increase in the number of cars stolen to commit other crimes or to ship to Mexico
People are going to Colorado because pot is legal to steal cars and ship them back to Mexico?

They're usually mentally insane drug addicts who can't find or afford help. Mental Health is one of the least talked about problems in this country.

Actually most homeless aren't seriously mentally ill
