If it was legal everywhere, they would just stay where they are.

I would still live in Colorado over 48 of the other shithole states.

I would take my chances with the increased odds of somebody raping me.

not yet, but as we all know pot is a gateway drug and its just a matter of time before they start smoking crack and shootin H

Dude, stop fricking trolling. Alcohol, is as much or more of a "gateway drug" (if you really believe that's how it works. That if someone uses marijuana it will cause them to start using other drugs.. Marijuana doesn't make them start using other drugs, they are probably people who would try/use whatever is available to them and if marijuana didn't exist, they would end up using the other shite).

It would make more sense if cigarettes were illegal, but stop being a troll.

I doubt Colorado's growing immigrant community has anything to do with the increase in crime.

Is the immigrant community growing? Colorado has always had a shitload of Mexicans. Denver's Mexican community had been around for generations. The crime is coming from transients. Similar to Nola's gutterpunk problem.

I know it's shocking... But the crime increase is because of white people. Every race has some bad eggs.

The same jack asses that want weed to stay illegal have no problem coming home after work and slamming back some beer or bourbon though , such hypocrites . Alcohol causes more chaos and death than any drug combined but its legal.

Which is kind of strange to me. Was their reasoning, "Weed is legal there so I can smoke weed worry free while continuing to rape, murder, burglarize, and assault people"

Crime rate in Colorado increases

Cops not wasting their time on weed busts have time to fight real crime, more arrests, crime rate goes up.

Blame the Denver Post and the sources they used for the stats and facts...

am in Colorado with some regularity, and I will say that it has become noticeably seedier in parts since the legislation passed.

We were in Durango for Christmas and couldn't believe the amount of homeless people. We were told by the locals it was because of weed. The transients started showing up in droves.

There is something that liberating about knowing you can smoke a joint in public, without worrying about jail or having someone call the cops. It used to be part of my daily routine after work. Get home, roll a joint, then walk the dog in the field by my house.

They account for the population explosion?

but in Colorado the crime rate per 100,000 people spiked by 3.4 percent, fueled by a rise in auto thefts, rape, murder and robbery.

Per capita reporting takes total population out of the equation.

Salt Lake City is a sh*t hole with homeless. Whole place looks like a Woodstock convention. Every side walk and grassy area has literally dozens of camped out. Every park has area has 100's. Here this week and was surprised how shitty downtown area has become.

I suspect that the increase is due to sketchy people moving there.
