Absolutely. Camp Comer, right outside of Mentone, AL. I was the Pack leader for his cub Scot pack. It was cold as hell that weekend. The pack earned their polar bear badges that weekend.

Mainly because I know they are becoming independent and that saddens me
Wait until they tell you their next work week is split between meetings at Cal Tech and MIT.

My bad dreams are (ranked)

1) Of folks that I loved who are now dead
2) Of my kids when they were young
3) Anything Arky or Bama-related

We did this tonight earlier, kinda wild to open TD and see this thread.

No tears tonight. Just warm memories of yesteryear.

They all all in the house. Had 1 or 2 flew the nest, I may feel sad.

I am worried personally how my wife and I will handle them leaving the nest. It's really hit me how little time we have. How little time is left, especially with our first. All of them of course but especially with our first.

Certainly, sometimes.

Hell I drive by the day care she used.

She turned 16 today.

The time just went through our hands.

On days I was off she stayed with me and I'd drag her around the hood in her little Radio Flyer with an umbrella.

I love looking at pictures of her sleeping on my chest. The pics often choke me up.

I've seen too many scout ranges in my lifetime. Ironically, rifle shooting is one of the few merit badges he DOESN'T have (he currently sits at 69 or 70 earned.)

We just signed to go to national jamboree next summer. Rumors are the boy scout in chief is going to make an appearance....

Brother buckle up. I had 3 in diapers at the same time 10 years ago. I’m glad I’m not in the trenches now but I sure do miss the hell out of it sometimes.

Feel like I’ve been in the trenches for a decade. 13 months apart. One step forward, two steps back on all things - potty training my son, bedtime, getting out of the house without melting down, etc

It’s fun and all, but damn I’m exhausted

Yes. Especially when they are with family members that are long gone. But bittersweet too. Lost my baby sister 20 years ago. I have old home movies of her w kids. Hurts like hell but helps in some crazy way.

Cry? No. Wistfully remember and wish to go back? Absolutely.

With them and also with my own parents. Golden times, only now in memories.

I have thousands of old pictures of my daughter, about a dozen framed throughout the house. She was incredibly smart ("profoundly gifted" IQ) and by luck of the gene pool also very beautiful. Raising her as a single parent was a surreal experience, and extremely entertaining on many levels. She just went through childhood at lightning speed, so wish to have had a few more years of that.

The only American girl to ever grace a cover of Vogue Bambini, she is now a doctor specializing in brain trauma and living in a city far away. I have horrible empty nest syndrome but nothing to cry over.

Man I cry without looking at anything sometimes. All I have to do is think about it.

When I’m with my youngest and we see little kids she always says “don’t cry , it’s ok”.

It took us 7+ years and a lot of heartbreak to finally have our son. He’s 3 now and we also have a little girl that’s 6 months old. It’s shocking going back on our phones and seeing photos from just 6 or so months ago of our son. It’s like life suddenly goes on fast forward mode and you don’t realize in real time how fast they are growing.

It’s like you get to enjoy a version of your kid for 6 months and then it gets replaced by a different one.

You’re in the prime moments now. I’ve been looking at videos from my kids at that age and maybe another year or 2. That what I’m missing the most.
