No, but I don't think he should be thrown in jail either. These people took advantage of the stupidity of the general public to give money to something they couldn't verify because it made them feel good about themselves. Susan G Komen foundation does this shite and no one bats an eye

People stupidly gave to them out of their own free will over a BS story. That's their own fault.

Seems like a stretch to arrest them for a crime to me. Maybe people will vet their donations better and give to real charities instead of emotional sob stories on the internet

They also would've easily gotten away with it too if the homeless dude wasn't crazy and decided 70K of free cash "wasn't enough" ... so instead took them all down

I read last week that GoFundMe was going to refund all of the suckers who donated. How is this GoFundMe's resonsibility? The chumps who donated ought to lose their money. It'll help them remember to not be so naive next time someone is looking for a handout.

It’s a PR push by them to help keep brand integrity for GFM.

If people get ripped off on GFM, they will stop donating through it and GFM no longer gets their cut.

They do have a point.. Because if this was the case, every single politician would be in jail right now.
