There have been several. The one I remember most is a couple years ago a white girl was shot by thugs -- for no reason and now she is paralyzed.

Never go to any free event in Baton Rouge.

I think an innocent bystander was paralyzed by a stray bullet a few years ago at the fireworks show.

The only way free could be good --
Put Gravy and Sharon Broome's fat asses on a barge about 10 yds off the levee. Then, pass out Roman Candles and bottle rockets to all the property owners in BR so we can shoot at them.

I'd pay top dollars for that!

The tipping point for both BR and NO has been reached IMO!

Haven't been in years and would not consider it in any circumstance.

You were the problem, then. It's like playing poker. If you can't spot the fish at the table within a few hands, you're the fish.

Watched it in Port Allen for a few years. Watched from Hollywood Casino last year. Won't go to downtown and watch it though. Maybe would get a hotel room or watch from Tsunami, but that would be about it.

I do remember going when I was a young lad. Was able to watch from whatever the Cap One building is now.

I will never step foot among the animals anymore

Old article: woman paralyzed 7/4 fireworks by stray bullet

The shooters got very little time. Two young people paralyzed for the rest of their lives.

If you go to these types of events in BR know there will be little to protect you and little done to those who hurt you by the courts.

When my daughter was 2, my then wife and I got in a huge fight because she wanted to go and I said no way I was putting my child in harm's way. That night a toddler got shot and killed by a stray bullet sitting in the back seat of a car. Screw that place.

Did that about 8 years ago. Wasn't as bad as BR side, but the culcha definitely traveled over there too

I have a friend with an apartment by the IBM building. I'll be there, but secluded from the culcha thank goodness.
