My dad had some out of town relatives from Sweden a few years back who we took to see the fireworks on the 4th. Let's just say it was a definite culture shock.

We went about 8 years ago for the first time in many years. The crowd was definitely different than I remembered. We got stuck in traffic for an hour leaving. I would not go again.

I don't remember if it was New Year's or the 4th but there was a shooting at one of the fireworks events downtown several years ago. I think it carried down the street and some of the bullets hit one of the restaurant windows at one of the casinos.

I can't remember the exact event either, and it seemed different compared recent shootings where multiple rounds are discharged,

There were stray bullets that paralyzed a teenager if I remember correctly. Horribly sad. But beearruh gonna beearruh.
