I don't even kill them when they get into my home, which has happened twice already this year (Louisiana bruh). Snakes are good luck. Catch and release.

Relocated 3 garters in the past 5 days.Dunno where they keep coming from or what they are coming for. They sure are feisty. Wife is ready to move.

My dog was raising hell I the back yard a few weeks ago. Rubbed out it was a snake so took it out. Im no snake expert so i played it safe.

Friday i saw a monster in the ditch when mowing my front yard. Gave him a pass partly because i didn't want to fish my Snapper out of the water.

Depends. As some mentioned, it depends what kind it is, how big, etc., but if I see one in the ditch near the street, I'll let it live because it's far enough away and probably eating rodents and other pests. If it's in the garden by my front door/garage, I'm more likely to kill so it doesn't wander in.

It also depends on how easily I can get to it and what I have available. If it's out in the open and I have a rocket launcher, then it's game time. If it slithered into some dense foliage and all I have is a shovel, then I can't be sure it isn't a trap with snake assassins hiding in there.

Garter snakes & king snakes get a pass.

Everything else looks too much like a GDCK and therefore must immediately perish.

Snakes keep the rodents away, so I let them live. Except cottonmouths. Never seen one around the house, but if I saw a cottonmouth, I'm killing it. Every other snake gets a pass. Not taking a chance with a kid and a dog that both play in the yard.
