There was definitely a move made towards the big guy. I don't think it was an attempt to throw a punch but more of a "what?" move.

Then we disagree as to what drunk guy was doing. Dropping his shoulders like that is what it would look like if he was about to throw a punch. That’s why people do it, to make the other person flinch. Of course, if they didn’t actually intend to throw the punch, then the person that flinches looks scared and aggressor thinks he wins the encounter by forcing the other to back down. However, that involves the risk that the other person will treat the fake punch as a real one and react. Drunk guy cant defend himself by saying he was pretending. No one can read his mind. Unfortunately for him, he did that to someone who has honed his reflexes to react instantaneously to that movement and throw punches in defense.

Zimmerman could have went back to his house also but he chased after Trayvon and the rest is history. The way the law is written dictates what someone can or can’t do in a situation.

If the laws wherever they are allow escalation in the face of a threat schilling will get off no issue. The guy was clearly drunk and belligerent. He fell into schilling then after schilling was walking away he mouthed off then either threw a punch or made a threatening move toward him. IMHO he had the right to defend himself and did a damn fine job.

Either way I doubt he spends any time in jail.

No self defense there.

This drunk bastard didn’t deserve that.

I hope he loses his license to compete

Yeah. Right before he got lit up he did the classic elbows back, chest out, head jut fake. And he paid that piper.

I may be part of the odds here but technically homie did flex as to swing at him so swinging back is justified.

If it’s two drunk untrained guys, sure let them go

But he’s a trained world elite level l kickboxer with the height weight reach and all advantages, if he felt that threatened he could have just hip tossed him or restrain him. Not this

Yea, he could have just walked away. He did walk past the dude, then turned around and went back into his face. That was a big issue imo.

Like it or not, he's trained to knock people out. The guy was probably annoying as frick and probably needed it, but you just can't. He wasn't a threat, it wasn't self defense, he'll get paid.

I have a question:
If the drunk guy had been acting an arse and disrupting the entire bar all night as the one side of this story we have heard claims, why didn't anyone at the bar make an effort to have the drunk guy thrown out?

With the extent of the drunk guy's alleged actions, they would have had more than enough reason to throw him out. It is going to get very interesting if the fighter winds up being a regular at the bar and friends with the staff. That part of the night was filmed for a reason. The guy was allowed to hang around for a reason. None of it looks good.

This deserves a thousand upvotes. There’s no confrontation if the guy just keeps walking, but he turns and gets in the guy’s face. If the case went before a jury in a criminal or civil context, there would be enough for a verdict against him or at least comparative fault.

He should’ve kept walking.

Because that drunk guy is probably a regular and everyone knows his behavior. He’s harmless

The kickboxer clearly dwarfs him, walks past him, only then to turn around an hit him in self defense? It’s clearly assault

He could have kept walking or put his hands up and tell the drunk guy to hit his hands only then to put them down. the drunk guy would have fell and end of story

Why would he want his premeditated assault captured on film anyway? Complete nonsense.

The guy was expelled from four schools, kicked out of his house by his own mother, and gets punched in the face for a living…..you really think he puts a lot of thought into his actions?
