some of these guys are idiots and only care about hiking, snorting and fricking. In 20 years that shite will be a distant memory and not help you in anyway, shape or form. keep in mind most of the guys saying that crap either didnt graduate or graduated with some degree that paid like shite getting out. Most make less now then you will starting out, so take their opinion with a grain of salt.

as a fellow engineer, take the best job offer with the most room for advacement near a city with a godo night life. You can always move later. go start your career, get as much debt paid off as you can in the first 3 years and put as much in 401k as you can reasonably afford. 12.5% of salary from day 1 would be my recommendation, but absolutely higher if you can.

wait to buy a new vehicle as long as possible.

learn about stocks and crypto and start investing as much as possible.

with having a godo job, slaying college poon will be easy, enjoy life after work as much as possible.

Do not get married before 27

wait until 30 to start having kids.

do not wait until later 30s to have kids

young and in a career that pays well provides the best times of your life. Take those vacation weeks and tavel. Have fun, but invest like crazy so you can have fun later in life before you are in your late 50s.

Knowing what I know now....Probably would have taken out a student loan the last semester and lived off that for 2-4 months while I traveled after graduation. Then put on my work boots and went on the job hunt.

With an engineering degree you will be able to find work, don't stress about it. There will be plenty of time in your life for work and responsibility. With a career there are no more month long vacations between fall and spring semester. There are no more week long spring breaks. No more 3 months off for summer. Take this time to reward yourself for a job well done with your education and take some time to do whatever the hell you want, even if its not traveling. Go paddle the Mississippi River from source to sea, whatever.

NOTE: While traveling, be aware that many of your future jobs may require a hair follicle drug test.
