I listened to his Jimmy Dore interview last week. He let Jimmy say a whole bunch of stuff that’s untrue on a molecular level, but he let him say it. A lot of it is conjecture or a political view on the world.
He’d let Shapiro go on and say the exact opposite without much pushback.
I disagree with Dore but I think he’s making good faith arguments, just has the wrong answers.
I can handle and appreciate that because I know if I were sitting across from Dore, the argument would be leading towards actual solutions not just finger pointing.

I tend to agree. It all stems from self loathing, and their narcissistic outlet is fulfilled by virtue signaling.
Low self esteem is then boosted by collective identity.

yeah i watched a video a long time ago. a doctor was brought in to fix a lot of peoples eyes, poor nutrition. they snuck cameras in. it was spooky as shite.
when the doctor would fix people up they would bow down and thank the Supreme leader for heeling them.
they dont even realize hes the reason they have to import a doctor to help them in the first place.

Agreed. North Korea was even worse than I thought it was. I thought it was just a non-stop Mao’s Great Leap Forward, but it’s worse. While China wants to control language, they didn’t butcher it to the point of removing anything resembling humanity. While Mao was for the collective, he didn’t do with the kids to near the degree the Kims did if only so Mao could use their kids to threaten their parents.

The problem is North Koreans are largely insane. Yeonmi is clearly a genius level intellect, so the vast majority won’t be nearly as easy to acclimate them to the West as her. It’s not like the Chinese that knew of the joys of the Western world and thus can be reasoned with. The average Chinese person understands the state of the world and mostly hate their own government, but North Koreans do not. South Koreans don’t want to reunify with the North at this point.

That’s the thing that surprised me the most. Despite all the horrors the Chinese have gone through, they’re still an extremely family oriented culture and carefully raise their kids (unless it’s a girl and they throw her off to the orphanage). I thought were more like old people I spoke with over there, when they’re way, way more damaged than they were.

That’s not the reason, and she goes into detail on the reason: it’s China. Penguin Books dropped her when the CCP called and threatened to ban their books in their country and no longer do book deals over in America.
