Just got home from two meals and I have to say I am thankful for my family. A total of around 60 people at the two meals combined with everything from Trump river parade riders to far-left liberals, just got off the stand baws to gay couples and not a single hint of anything but good-natured disagreement, mainly about football and the med pros were arguing about some meds their grandmother is taking. Over 6 hours total and not a single breath of politics or anything else divisive. Just family and friends enjoying family and friends.

We always travel around thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm jealous. One year we did go to San Destin for Thanksgiving and did a cruise another time, but we kind of have a deal that Thanksgiving is supposed to be with my parents and Easter with my in-laws.
So I feel bad leaving my parents since they are so old, but I would love nothing more than to be at a cabin in the mountains or on a Caribbean island or something like that instead of dealing with my parents.

Leaving to head out of town for Christmas would be a huge slap in the face to our families, so that has never even been considered.

Well that sucks. We don't want function, we want dysfunction.

I just finished a great meal. By myself. Try to make the most of it by I’m so fricking lonesome. Going for another ride in the boat then going to fish under my light and try to make the most of being lonesome.

Being lonely sucks. Do you have a dog? If I wasn’t married, I would definitely have a dog or 2.

Are you a veteran? Find the VFW halls in your area and check them out. Might find a fishing buddy or 2.

My sister in law called my 5 month pregnant wife fat and said what she was wearing just made her look fat not pregnant.

Soon as I heard those words come out her mouth I knew I was in for it. Seriously though, my wife's sister can be a grade A biotch.

Thank god for booze and football!

We served as host this Thanksgiving - a first for us - 28 of us. Not a hitch nor a whimper with 11 of the 28 being grandchildren. Was very pleasant - the house has quieted - on to football.

P.S. One grandson attempted to clean the Great Dane's poop off the motorized tractor with his Dad's electric toothbrush - was caught before the deed - which was a shame!!!

I'm by myself, but it's year 3 of this for holidays, but now it's no big deal. Probably the most content I've been in 3 years, maybe 5 yrs. Life finds a way....(end the sentence how you want). I know mine.
