The murder rate when this was filmed was double what it is now.
The 24/7 news cycle and internet of today just means you are more aware of “bad” news. Crime was actually way worse then, especially violent crime.
Don’t get me wrong, I grew up on n the 80s and the video brought back some memories. Seemed like a much simpler time but I was just a kid.
