I'll drink 4-6 beers or a half bottle of wine most nights, and some days I will kill like 15 beers and a few mixed drinks.

I drank like this for years in my late 20s-early 30s and couldn't sleep when I quit. I'd only sleep 4-5 hrs straight when I was drinking but I'd stare at the ceiling until 3-4 am when I stopped for a few years.

I eventually just had to start taking over the counter sleeping meds for some time.

I’d do 2 to 3 beers or half a bottle of wine 5 nights a week and then have a couple of beers with lunch followed by a couple mixed drinks and half a bottle of wine on Fridays and Saturdays.

I could do 25 to 30 to 30 a week in my 20s. Take a week off and liver numbers would be fine. Now in the mid30s not so much. My liver could just be a bit sensitive though. No spots on ultrasound or anything, just high enzymes.

Are you a woman? Not being a dick but usually women have weaker livers than men. Men who are heavy drinkers will usually live a lot longer than women who are.

Thanks for telling me my future.

ETA: Do any other heavy drinkers feel tired at the end of the day, pop a few brews, and instantly feel energized? That shite worries me.

Wut. I don’t stay up. I just feel tired when I wake up due to no deep sleep or REM.

I'm probably closer to 60. Definitely not killing 12 a day, though I've done that in the past.

Probably more than that, honestly.

I'd quit working outside around 4 or so (after already having 2 beers at lunch) and would put away 1.5 an hour until I went to sleep.

If you get bloodwork done at an annual check up they should do a liver panel, especially if you are honest on alcohol consumption.

Yeah, I am definitely in the 30+ area currently and I am somewhat worried about my long term health.

Nope a guy. 5’11” 190 lbs, so I’m not tiny. I lift two days a week and walk 3 miles twice a week. Blood pressure and cholesterol are in healthy ranges.

20 to 30 drinks a week will give most people elevated liver numbers.

Maybe so. But I figured I should cut back to not check out in mid 40s.

There are lots of foods and wines I’ve yet to taste, and lots of pairs of tits I haven’t seen yet.

Yeah, drinking wrecks my sleep. Most nights I'll have a beer or two, but that's it. And most weekends I drink beer during the day, but quit around 5 or 6 to sober up a little before bed.

A few pours of whiskey really improves my sleep. Getting drunk means I'm waking up at 5-6 am with a hangover... it's all about moderation
