Exactly. I think parades are cleaner now than when I was a kid.
I remember catching a poster of a topless woman at the New Roads parade as a 10-year-old. There were no complaints! But my parents did take it away from me as I showed everyone my prize

quote:I've never been to a Covington parade but have been to parades in dozens of other towns. And typically the smaller town parades usually reflect the town a little more. But to expect a Disneyland atmosphere for your 7yo at any parade not specifically designed as 'family gras' is just low IQ
Covington to be a little cleaner and. More family friendly?

Some of my fondest memories as a 10 year old is chasing the float throwing jello shots while having boob beads around my neck and wearing purple, gold, green panties like a beanie cap.
That was last week

So Spanish Town?
I have never seen this at a Spanishtown
I have ridden for the past 5 years & attended parade before that
There is plenty of risqué attire but I’ve never come across anyone throwing dildos
Not saying I don’t believe you because someone told me about it happening last year, my float is a lot of older people tho

Guess they’ve never been to the new roads black parade.

About 18 years ago the February edition of the Baton Rouge Fun magazine or whatever it’s called had a picture of a Spanish town rider as its cover. The man had on a flamingo hat. What the magazine didn’t notice is the flamingo had a big pink penis.

Someone also threw a realistic-looking rubber breast at the boy,
Someone brought these on our float last year. They're basically stress balls and pretty funny. AKA not really a big deal. This outrage is absurd.

One of the funniest things I remember from Spanish Town was a float throwing real chicken feet that were painted pink and all the people picking them up and shoving them in their pockets like they were some sort of treasure. I guess they thought they were plastic.

Mardi Gras is fricking trashy.
