Is this like "the emperor's clothes"? Scruffy sees no boots.

ETA: there you go

I have a pair of Merrill mid Moabs(not twos). Very comfortable for hiking. But make sure that you get the pair that is waterproof, hiked Saturday in the rain and my feet were soaked.

I think Merrill's are hideous.

But I had a pair of Moab hiking shoes that were great.

I'm sure the boots are quality, but I'd obviously only wear them for hiking.

I've heard mixed reviews on their durability. If you're looking for a real quality hiking boot, I doubt this is what you want.

I gave Merrell two chances. Both pairs fell apart way too fast.

If you're on your feet all day and they're the most comfortable shoes you've ever worn frick the look.

I heard they are perfect for stomping rioting SJW's so there is that.

I will always wear 'approach' shoes over a boot. 5.10, La Sportiva, Boreal...

Don't have that model, but I've had several pairs of Merrell's over the years -- boots and trail running shoes. Loved them all.

I have 2 pair of the Moabs. One high (like pictured) and one low. I wear the low tops in the summer and they are very light, comfortable and durable. If you are looking at trail shoes like these, also give Solomon and Keen a look. I have a pair of Keens that are also very light and comfortable.

Those Merrels are very nice, I have the exact pair. They are seriously the most comfortable boot I've ever worn and they have held up great on the trail. If you want to look at a trail shoe (low top), go ahead and get the La Sportiva Wildcats. Amazing trail shoe

I have these (waterproof) and the Moab Ventilator (low cut). Regarding the comments about them not being durable, mine are 4 years old and have seen heavy use including hiking in multiple National Parks. The Ventilators are just now starting to come apart but I've taken them for yard shoes. Will get a new pair next hiking trip.
