Can you not buy that abroad and ship it to the USA?
Sure you can. You just need to wait 25 years before you can bring it to the US and get it registered.

Even that isn't a bad price.

What if I don't want to register it?

I’d trade my car in for that in a heartbeat.
Also the government would find some way to make that $10k car cost $30k minimum here

From a pure working man perspective that is the most useful bed I've ever seen. Looks like the tailgate and sides can be lowered to make a flat bed.
One of my favorite trucks was an old first generation frontier when they were still small like the hardbody. I had a truck with a manual that would get 30mpg. Then they upgraded the size and they got around 17mpg.
It's like the little truck market in the u.s just cesed to exist.

Rear tires rubbing the front of the fender well.

What is the reason?
I’d buy one in a second for that price or a little more.

The epa is its own worst enemy. By today’s standards, a real compact pickup would be required to get so high an mpg, if the manufacturers achieved it, it would be so underpowered that no one would want it.
The bigger the truck is, the mpg’s are easier to attain, so that’s why trucks keep getting bigger.
