I'm in the nde business and we are forever facing layoffs. Money is good when we are rolling but I'm getting tired of this shite. Thinking about going in house. 3rd turnaround this year. I'm fricking worn out between the long hours and not knowing what's gonna happen next.

And, how does that make you feel?

Work smarter, not harder.

Know when to hold em and know when to fold em.

Let the club do the work.

Honestly, going in house may be for less money overall but your stress level will be much easier to manage. It's hard to go to a job and hate every second because you are worn out.

Well that's just it. I'm not your typical baw. I'm a bit older I do get along with most but it seems like the ones that make it have to be from or related to the big dogs. Been in this now 5 years. Good track record and always catching work but I never get to stay on the "not going anywhere " list. Doesn't seem to matter if some on that list can even do their job or not

I'd imagine so, who wants to be around near-death experiences long term?

Best decision I ever made was hiring on with the company. I took approximately 100k/year pay cut. But, now I work 40 hours per week and my stress level is pretty close to zero.

Quarter mil a year was nice, but the lack of time to actually do anything along with the extreme stress level just wasn't worth it.
