You are gonna get blasted, but I’ll go down with you. You’re spot on.

Thanks. I know from 35+ years of working on this shite, what can happen.
And I see people bitching about things they know little to nothing about on a daily basis. I knew I would get downvoted all to hell and back, but I don't care.

Same here. Had a Mazda dealership service tech cut 4 wires to an oxygen sensor to make the check engine light go off. Car was 2 days old.

This happened to me at Richards Honda on Millerville. Them frickers gave me trouble for me wanting to replace compressor in my AC and the auxillary fan behind, I Think thats what it was, even though i had the car less than a year and it still being under warranty. Finally got them to fix it after waiting in their reception area from 7am until 4pm. I take the car and as im driving home i blew my horn and it didn't work. I called and ask them what they did and see if they could fix it. Richards Honda claimed they didn't do anything with the horn and they wouldn't fix it. Come to find out they unplugged the horn. Whether through incompetence or just being dicks frick RICHARDS HONDA.

What approach would you suggest? Internet reviews? Complaints to manufacturer? Billboard?

I had a pretty good meltdown in a car dealership a week or two ago
I think my husband and I are still banned from a car dealership service dept in the Baton Rouge area. He had a huge issue with his brand new work truck at the time (drive shaft fell off), and we had a brand new car that just quit working (fuse was loose and they tried to charge me for 3 batteries)... within days of each other.
He had cursed them out early in the week about his work truck, then I went in later that week with the problem with our vehicle. I was not happy, and when my husband showed up to bring the kids and I home, the service rep said "oh frick that's your husband", and he went into the service area so we couldn't follow him.

I would try to figure out what the hell is going on for my own peace of mind. I would want to know:
-what was the repair/recall supposed to entail?
- was the MAP sensor wire supposed to be cut during the repair?
- could the wire that was cut even cause the engine to be running fine and die unexpectedly?
My point is, you are assuming a whole bunch of shite which may or may not be true. You need to figure out what the deal is and let the manufacturer what happened if warranted.

Are you black? If so, there are some options.

Did you buy the vehicle "As is" ?
If so its yours.

Your husband sounds trashy.

There are some fabulous stories(read that, fabrications) in this thread.

I believe Westlaw has the answers you seek.

A bad or disconnected MAP sensor would've triggered a CEL as soon as you started the car. This story is fishy.

I would call them and explain what the issue was and demand they reimburse you. If you have pictures it would be helpful. Try to stay calm but if they continue to deny lose your f'ing shib!

I had this problem with my f150. Dealership did some type of fix with the computer snd that solved the problem or it at least never happened again

A ford dealer once didnt torque my lugs on both rear wheels. Was on 310 and could feel the weight shift. Ruined both wheels. I should have sued their arse

And the left rear tire falls off. It falls off. It falls. the frick. off...turning my van into a tri-pod.

very well could be rodent damage, as this is quite prevalent, and will look just like someone "cut" the wire
This is aggravating... month ago my wife says her vehicle "running rough"... I was at work so I told her to drop it off at dealership. They call next day to say mouse ate wiring harness, not covered by warranty. I live on cul-de-sac on 3 acres, mostly wooded. My garage is sheetrocked, just like inside the house, so no place to hide. I put sticky traps, spring traps, and poison everywhere in garage. 2 weeks later, muthrfkr does it again!

"A tort is a civil wrong..."
That's all I've got from my Auburn undergrad business law class. That will be $400.

I'm clearly not a mechanic, but I know the following facts and timeline heavily favor tomfoolery:
1. The truck ran fine for the last 7 years.
2. The dealership performs free work on recall (truck has never had an issue).
3. The same day, the first time the vehicle gets to any speed, it shuts down.
4. The next day, mechanic opens hood in front of me and points to cut wire, changes out MAP sensor and splices on new pigtail.
5. The truck runs fine.
It was the dealership immediately dismissing me whilst simultaneously telling me that they couldn't even look at the truck for a week and a half that got me.
