Old well known established Northshore family. We are moving OOS, seriously doubt we ever come back.

Then the house most likely will be even smaller.

Also the new road design for 190 into Covington in some areas makes it very difficult to make left turns.

This actually helped traffic move on 190.

idk about that, never really been impressed with house/land sizes in the northshore area compared to what you could get in some other state. Things have been getting more and more cramped for decades.

That would allow for Madisonville to feed back into Covington, easing the population issues at Mandeville High.

That will never be allowed. Those Madisonville moms will not allow their precious Braydens associate with the Covington high crowd.

But is it overrated in a way that makes Covington high better or (even) worse?

Can you blame them? I damn sure wouldn’t be starting a family in New Orleans. I’d work there and commute to the north shore. Easy choice. 34 miles one way is nothing.

Mandeville High's a better school in most objective ways, but it's not worth selling your house over. People build Mandeville up into this august institution, with its cute little location and the little stadiums out front, but the student body and their parents are basically like Rummel, at best.

Tallow Creek subdivision will be underwater every time it rains. Those St. Bernardians just can't escape rising water.

I have to think that the corporate drone commuting back and forth from M’ville to NOLA as it’s been for the last 30 or 40 yrs has got to be fairly rare nowadays .. With some companies moving to the Northshore, and more and more jobs going remote- you’d have to be fairly bad at negotiating and have almost no leverage to agree to do that drive 5 days a week in 2022.. i can see doing it twice a week and virtual the other three days, or completely virtual.. im speaking of most jobs where you used to have to go sit in a cubicle in some high rise every day, of course there are some jobs that will never go virtual by necessity .

That’s cupcake mentality. Sure flexibility is nice but what you are describing is abuse. Work from home occasionally when you have a Dr appt or something that causes you to cut a work day short.

Lol, you got it backwards, Sparky .

What’s ‘abuse’ is making someone drive over an hour round trip every day to do work that could more efficiently and productively be done from your home office than in a cubicle…. Or maybe you’re the type who needs constant supervision and a kick in the pants in order to get your work done ? You do you .

He's a scumbag. Executive staff of former parish presidents (both Davis and Brister) bent over backwards for him because they needed his campaign contributions and his influence. It was gross to watch.

Not all of us have jobs that can be completely done from a desk. Enjoy your recluse lifestyle. You probably also like personal shoppers so you don’t have to get out of your car at the grocery store. Society is so fricked going forward. The human interaction is going away. Everyone wants to be isolated and only be on their computer in their safe space.
