I am thinking about taking WWII history (4130) this summer. The professor is Rebecca Bond. Can anyone tell me what to expect from both this class and this professor. It is a Session B course. Monday-Friday for an hour and a half for one month. Thanks for the help.

I took professor Hilton for the class, so its hard to compare, but I enjoyed the class. All the tests were essays but he made it quite obvious in advance what the question(s) on the test would be about. I never read the book and I got an A.

Hilton was a much better professor than Bond, but she makes it interesting.

If it's not Hilton, it's not Legit.

I seriously doubt that any person named Rebecca is going to be a true expert on World War Two.

Hilton isn't teaching it? I did Nazi that coming.

Hilton (did he not retire?)or Royder are passionate and great professors that always drove me to ask more questions and pull out the real history nerd in class. Some other professors there (especially in the 1-2000 level course), honestly should not be teaching history, as I had multiple professors that told stories based on movies (ei. The Other Boleyn Girl, Enemy at the Gates, etc) and not facts in a book or even proven research. I would suggest Royder for sure, cracked a history joke or 2 in class, to give your wrist a break haha

Hilton was the man. I loved how he made it clear on the first day that he would have some opinions about the Japanese that may offend and he wasn't going to be PC. If you had a problem with that - well, bye!

If you are not getting the version of WWII from the losing side, you might as well just read wikipedia or watch any hollywood movie.

No. He did retire.

One of my favorite classes I took. I took it in 2008 and I can't remember who taught it, but it was an older man that just told stories 90% of the time. All essay tests, but they were a breeze.

Roider was the GOAT history professor, but he retired.

This class is a perfect embodiment of how much I squandered my time at LSU. I took the class with Royder, and I don't remember anything from it because I probably never went. Do you know how much I would pay to sit in a class for 3 hours a week and learn about WWII? [checks Sallie Mae statement] Woah not that much, it's a figure of speech!

Is that who taught it in 08? I looked at a picture and he looks familiar, but I have the memory of a goldfish.
