I mean I kinda get it but NXT has been booked strong leading up to this

Strong had no business going over AJ Styles
Ripley just isn’t that good
I’m ok with Shayna winning but lynch is your top draw.

You can still make NXT look strong

Or frick it and not have raw nor smackdown anymore

I think that's obviously what they are going for and I tell you what they did pretty good building up folks like Lee, Riddle, Ripley, etc to take over the title scene when UDE and Baszler move on

FInally caught up and I know this will get downvoted but having the womens triple threat match close the show is heavily misguided and the show ended as a dud.

AEW fans are just that. They’re hatred of WWE is why they’re AEW fans. They’re AEW fans out of spite. That’s not going to change. I think this has more to do with introducing NXT stars to WWE fans that only watch RAW and/or Smackdown.

I look at it differently. He didn’t go over AJ Styles. We all know who and what AJ Styles is in the ring. He will end up WWE Champion again before he retires when his contract is up.

Styles needed nothing out of this match. Losing didn’t hurt him. I feel like Shinsuke will probably be losing the IC soon and it’s obvious they’re pushing the frick out of the Undisputed Era.

I have no problem with Strong sneaking a win. Nakamura took Styles finisher and not Strong’s. Strong got the heel, cheap win.

Doesn’t hurt Styles one bit.

that's the downfall of all of this SJW / women's evolution bullshite when it's a worthy main event? then absolutely, but not every other damn PPV needs the women to close the show "just because".

but hey at least the WWE women are WOMEN and are gorgeous. over at AEW they are showcasing obsese transgender wrestlers and gay wrestlers twerking in booty shorts

the interesting thing from last week's NXT ratings win...

AEW still won the 18-49 male demo

NXT brought in more of the 50+ demo that watches WWE usually to the NXT broadcast

This just isn't true. You're completely discounting the possibility that AEW might actually be a good show. I would bet most AEW fans have the WWEN and still watch at least some of Raw and Smackdown every week plus most of the ppvs.

I think most people agree with you (including myself)

I felt that match going last needed to have a major swerve attached to it for it to be worthy of the final spot in the show

the fact that it didn't just had the feeling an undercard closed the show when either of the 2 top title matches or the men's elimination match was the true main event

As much as no one wants to admit it for some reason the womens matches just arent amazing wrestling usually. At least 10 botches a match still. I barely watched the end and saw 3 or 4 mess ups. AJ losing pissed me off. What the hell...he is your top star and is losing way to frequently. Daniel and Fiend was fine but overall pay per view was bad. NXT added in kind of ruined it. I like NXT but it threw in to much to the survivor matches and ended up weakening them to me.

I'm ok with Strong winning the way he did

AJ got the most of the offense in (as he should've)... including his finisher being the move the match ended on

Roddy Strong doing the dick heel move of throwing the fan favorite out of the ring and poaching the win is fine... a heel acted like a heel to get a win

the only person who lost in this scenario is Nakamura... who I'm sure most people expected to be the loser in this match anyway

yea NXT sucks on the main shows. they are good for what they cater to (the minority of fans who only care about the fake fights), but NXT has no business being on the mainstream/flagship shows. very few, if any of the NXT roster would ever draw a dime with the mainstream audience. they're a niche product.

Triple H is trying to make it work, and it does work when it's limited to that small audience. it just doesn't work on the mainstream/flagship shows.

basically no one other than smart marks are ever going to tune in to watch NXT, but a casual audience WILL tune in to watch Raw and Smackdown.

you do know that the vast majority of the current WWE main roster spent at least a year or 2 in NXT, right?

Where the hell do you think almost LITERALLY every WWE main roster wrestler has come from since 2014?

You cannot be this stupid.

Solid arse show. First main roster ppv in a loooong time (getting cancelled tomorrow). NXT elevated the hell out of that PPV

Each classic SS match had only ONE wrestler who didn't come through NXT (Natalya & AJ.) That's one reason why adding NXT didn't cause timing issues and other issues you'd expect from "different worlds". You may not like it but the HHH/NXT style is now the WWE style. And that is why this month's exposure will lead to NXT being seen as a 3rd major brand not just developmental for the other two.
