Agreed. Everyone comes out of this looking stupid. Punk running out last second to knock Drew off the ladder made way more sense

Or have Drew get attacked by Punk before the cash in attempt and they get involved with the match hitting Rollins.
Drew and Punk can have their feud still and Drew still has his MiTB contract (more on that).
Priest gets to keep his title until SummerSlam where he loses to Gunther when Finn screws him over.
Drew goes over Punk with Seth’s help. This kickstarts a Punk vs Rollins feud.
Drew announces he will cash in against Gunther at Bash in and finally has a real title reign in front of live fans.

Yeah. They should have just had Punk screw over Drew in the MIB match. Unless they did not have any plans for the MIB this year and just wanted it out of the way.
