There are ways to cover up an accident without being so violet and twisted. I just don't think the parents did it or the brother.
They were looking at that family friend "Santa" and another creepy looking guy with the backpack with JonBenit stuff in it.

I remember watching the case when I was younger and swearing it was the mother. I watched the 3 night ID special this week though and now I have no clue.

You still can't explain the silly ransom note.

Mike Helgoth + unknown partner.
I'm convinced.

After watching the specials, I think it was the brother. The fact the parents said he was sleeping but you could hear his voice in the 911 call is sketchy. I think he accidentally killed her, maybe hit her with something

Well if it was Helgoth or the mom, they both got what was coming to them.

Brother at 7-9 knew how no twist a tourniquet for use to strangle?
A garrote? Was/is that the term?
Plus DNA? How much "genetic material" Can a nine year old produce?

My speculation is the same as yours.
Brother caused head injury.
Mother wrote ransom note.
Dad put her in basement and found her later.
The sexual assault is the very weird part that doesn't fit though, of course the brother could have done that too.
The pineapple is also kinda weird and unexplained, especially with mother and brother's prints on it.

The DNA evidence exonerated the entire family, at least from that aspect. It belonged to an unidentified male.
The knot for the garrote was considered to have been done by someone with a knowledge of knots. Also the bruising made it apparent that she was still alive when the garrote was used to asphyxiate her.

Ive always thought her killing had to do with her beauty pageant successes. Some kid's mother was pissed and had her done in.

I think that's what I'm leaning towards, but it still doesn't explain the ransom note in the moms writing and the pineapple.

Agree. How does law enforcement search the house and not find her body in the basement? That's the part that i find very strange. Even the parents didn't search the whole house???
Posted on 9/17/16 at 9:33 am to Isabelle81
Regarding the finding of her body, seemed very strange they didn't search the entire house at first. Then when did start looking the dad went straight to the spot, then carried her upstairs. Just seemed like a very convenient way to completely destroy a crime scene.
The ransom note written inside the house still makes no sense. The wording and random $ amount just doesn't add up.

There is zero evidence of any outsider. The DNA evidence found on her underwear? What 10 years after the murder and after handled by god knows how many people? Please, let's not go Barry Scheck garbage in, garbage out.
OK, here are FACTS of that early morning. Patsy calls 911 at 5:52 AM. Says there is a ransom note, her daughter is "missing".
Ransom note demands that the Ramsays (specifcally John) to not to talk with anyone, don't call the police, even a stray dog, etc. They (the kidnappers) will call back between 8 and 10 AM. But, before any of this, the Ramseys not only call 911, tell the police to hurry up (although they were told by these "kidnappers" that they are watching them) and even worse, they call and invite several friends over before the 8 AM deadline. Even a preacher shows up. Burke is ushered off to the Whites house.
do I need to keep going?

It was the brother and most here have no idea who she is( or even heard of her)

According to what I read the random money amount was very close to the amount John Bennet Ramsey received as a bonus the year prior: $118,000.

That family should own Boulder Colorado.
In two weeks they had DNA evidence that exonerated everyone in the house. In 6 months, they had evidence from 2 different articles of clothing that exonerated everyone in the house.
Their own hand picked investigator gave them something like 200 reasons why it could not be someone in the house, and concrete evidence of an intruder entering the house. The police sued their own investigator to keep him from presenting the evidence he found to the grand jury, and to permanently destroy his evidence. The police put out false story after false story, to get the public to convict the Ramseys.
It took 12 years for the Ramsey family to be officially exonerated, and the mom had already died. Like I said, they should own Boulder right now.

I just can't fathom that the mom did it
Only possibility would be if it had been a terrible accident
