Telling others how they should grieve is up there as one of the most arrogant things one can do.

It's a sad thing, there are photographers that do sessions for stillborn births photos. I can't even...

And this practice wasn't even new 100 years ago.

Ex-girlfriend of mine is a nurse, and one of her jobs used to be warming up the stillborn babies so that they weren't cold when parents requested a chance to hold the child.

She said those were the really rough days.

I'll jump in on this and add my personal experience again (not that it matters, I suppose).

We lost our newborn daughter to CDH in 2014.

Losing a child is an indescribable pain. My wife and I will never be the same again.

We shared a couple of carefully selected photos of our daughter with our friends and family on Facebook. It was not in a effort to garner sympathy but more as a declaration that she was here and that she mattered in our lives. We share aspects of our lives on social media, so why not something so real and obviously impacting?

Because it makes people sad and uncomfortable?

Well imagine how that mother and father feels. I've said this before on these child-loss threads, grieving parents need support, they need attention. Their world has been turned upside down. Their hopes and dreams have been crushed...and all the people in their lives want to do is push them in a closet and wait for things to be ok again.

Give this mother her time to share and grieve. If it upsets you, don't look or read. But even if it does upset you...so what? Big deal. Move on and be grateful that you've never experienced the hurt and sadness that this family will forever experience.

You're one of the lucky ones now. You may not always be, however. Life is fricked up that way.

People have all of these hopes and dreams for their unborn child. The excited anticipation of the birth and change to their lives gets erased at the end. People get weird when they grieve and I'm not gonna judge.

It's overtaken peoples lives.
Sad bunch of sheep we've become as a society.
