Wtf are all these drones?

Last night I go in back yard to find wtf bug is squeeking outside my window, but that's all other story...
I look in sky to the south and see red green lights, I assume its plane or helicopter. 20 minutes later it's still in same spot so I grab my binoculars, it def appears to be a drone. Then I notice another one to east of that, same thing. I walk all the way around my house looking in all directions and there were about 15-20 of them. Had it been a couple i figure it was a nerd convention, but the distance between them and the amount of them was bizarre.
I don't put anything past the govt but I don't think this is a crazy big brother type deal, I was thinking maybe air quality monitoring or something. No I wasn't drunk or high before you ask. And no I wasn't abducted and probed in my arse.
Anyone else see em or know?

No doubt. Just curious why so many would be sitting in same spot for 20+ minutes all over the sky. If they Back tonight I'm going to drive towards them and see why wtf they hovering over
