True. The state of California, Asheville, NC, and several other towns/cities/states are giving black people "reparations" via tax dollars. That's not very equal or Equitable since that's the term you marxists love nowadays.

It's the tradeoff that comes with having a safety net, there are going to be people that take advantage and that avoid the checks and balances. People that spend 20 years going to college on the government dime, or don't work but have multiple kids. That happens anywhere.
Correction, that happens anywhere with leftist government with no accountability. There are governments that have a welfare system that comes with qualifications and standards that must be met every month before getting the next handout. We don't have that here.

The problem with the US health system is the US population.
The US population is so unbelievably unhealthy that any system would break under its weight.
If you want a good healthcare system, fix the population first.
At bare minimum, reduce obesity by 50%.

But hey, they just had about 800 african illegals just cross their border the other day

And you don't think the lifestyle of the unhealthy is a factor in this? Look at your beloved Covid dictators. They were so busy damanding everyone get the clotshot but said nothing of "eating healthy and exercising will dramatically reduce the effects of Covid". In fact, if you dare to point out to the fatty's and morbidly obese that being a fat piece of shite is unhealthy, the LEFT, and only THE LEFT, calls you out for "fat shaming", and not embracing a "body positive" image.

Poster wants the government out of healthcare....Good luck convincing Aetna to affordably(or freely) insure a soldier with chronic lifetime needs due to injuries.
Again, we have the VA. The VA is the government healthcare you so desire. Why is the VA such a failure?

The USA is one of the least healthy 1st world countries that has ever existed.

It's because everyone here is overweight. Those minorities you do somersaults for every day on here are the most overweight people on the planet
You said your wife works in Healthcare. Certainly she has complained about those people abusing the system to you. If you say she hasn't, you're lying

I have a friend that works for Lockheed Martin who was sent to the UK on a three year contract, while there he and his wife had two children, so a lot of docs, they loved the system, my daughter broke her ankle while visiting them over there and was treated very well too, I think it gets a worse rap than it deserves because people over here have grown up hearing their parents and politicians bash it but don't really know a lot about it

That’s 26,000 a year. I do believe the us statistics on people who die due to a lack of health insurance is at 45,000 a year.
If the US had UK’s bad system, we’d lose over 100,000 per year to lack of beds and treatment. And that is assuming the problem doesn’t get proportionally worse with greater population. It probably does get worse.
And that’s assuming the UK’s population isn’t less healthy than the US on average. It’s probably slightly better.

Brother if you think it's just the left pushing body positivity, you're mistaken. The OT is pretty right leaning and you can't start a thread here without someone pointing out how their BMI of 34 isn't accurate because they played varsity football in 1993

Oh, and here's another factor your willingly ignoring. Another key ingredient to rising healthcare costs, is the millions of illegals we are letting run across the border, who get sick, go to our hospitals with NO INSURANCE, and we, the TAXPAYERS are left to pick up the bill. But do you want to dare try to state we have a severe border crisis? No. Do you want to point out the rise in fentanyl and drug OD and poisoning which adds to the healthcare costs? NO. Do you want to address the general health habits of the public? No.
You think the reason our healthcare costs are so expensive is due to private health insurance.

Progressives, like Bronc, will defend the obese and overweight with their dying breaths, despite them being one of the top, if not the top, drivers in medical cost.

Would you rather 60% of your paycheck go to our federal government, the same government that runs Obamacare and the VA, in exchange for government run healthcare?
Or would you rather keep more of YOUR MONEY and use your own money to decide the insurance coverage that fits your family?

The posters on here are just deluded and can’t accept responsibility.
Two different things that ultimately lead to one massive problem: obesity.

Wait until their trip to the doctor starts being like a flight on Spirit Airlines, because that is what is going to happen.

You haven’t been to a hospital in 30 years?

Well, its quite a bit different here, where I've been for most of the past 30 years.
I did end up at LSUS once and remember what it was like. I figure that's the future of healthcare.
