Yeah, and a bare minimum force to invade Iran is 500,000 troops, possibly as high as 1.6 million. Israel has 10 million people total living in their country, half of which are women and a large portion that are children or elderly.

Where do you think they plan to get those troops for a ground invasion? Probably their ally with 330 million people that has as many 18-19 year old men as they do of men total.

That’s a different debate. You knowingly or unknowingly posted a lie about what an Israeli former minister said in the video.

Trying to play what ifs after the fact without owning the inaccuracy of what you posted is still pretending the quote in tweet wasn’t an out right fabrication. You want that debate start it with a factual post from a US official, and to start a debate about Israeli boots on the ground start with an explicit and factual statement from the active Israeli defense minister.

I seriously doubt that Israel is willing to send 60% of their young men into a slaughterhouse, especially since 500K is the bare minimum for a potentially successful ground invasion of Iran. Of course he’s largely talking about US troops here.

You realize they have women too? And all are part of conscription. And serve in combat roles.

Also former citizens who have left have to return if called upon.

What if Turkey doesn't want to respond or defend itself with force?
That's actually a great question. I don't know how it has evolved with the passage of time and communication methods. I suspect those discussions are taking place right now. I don't think Turkey could sit back and say "nah, we're good" and stop it. However I do think they would have a rather large say in the decision whether to act on it or not. It would be damaging to the entire alliance if potential enemies were given any gray area that such a decision would create.

Actually Turkey can. An attacked member of NATO needs to invoke article 5 to require a unified military response. If a NATO member is attacked and doesn’t want a NATO response they can simply not invoke

Have a good night guys. I'll end this day with an eerily accurate echo from the past.
