Still have to have oil.

You just hit on one of the big drivers that's pushing down the value of the US dollar and driving up the price of oil.

So glad I will be 2 blocks from the streetcar in New Orleans. 1-1/2 weeks to go.

Yep, the FOMC is and has been flooding the market with money and every commodity has skyrocketed since all commodities are $ based.

The FOMC is doing it, in my opinion to make the US' goods cheaper elsewhere which keeps people employed

Well they're doing a shitty job of that then. Name one common consumer good that has not skyrocketed in price over the past 4 or 5 years.

Two more weeks for me. Front doorstep on the Carrollton route.

y'all won't be calling me a stupid hipster for riding my bike to work now, eh?

Being called a hipster should be the least of your worries. I'd worry about getting run oft the road or kilt, you dirty hippy.

Have fun waiting in the heat for an inefficient transit system that is stuffed with tourists, doesn't have a/c, and takes 25 minutes to get halfway down the line, only to wait for a bus for another 10 minutes, then jump on to that, go down a little further, wait another 10 minutes for a streetcar, only to get stuck in traffic once you go under the expressway.

I live a couple blocks from the Claiborne/Carrollton stop and I work a couple blocks off St. Charles/Napoleon. The streetcar is fine in the off-season and when there's no construction on the line, but the rest of the time it's a chore. If I'm going downtown I take the Claiborne bus. Get's you there in 7 minutes and has a/c.

Anyhow, welcome to the neighborhood xXLSUxx and Isabelle. Don't let my negative streetcar attitude get you down.

I've already been living in the area for several years, I'm well aware of the streetcar issues.
