They may not attend that church but they are still making lots of donations thru the mandatory tithing, fundraiser donations and expenses they charge students and parents.
I refused to send my kids to such a place.

Inlaws side of the family, the Godmother to 5 nieces left $36 million to the Church.After being taken advantage of by the local Bishop as she lay dying. Not one nickle stayed in the Parish, which had two Catholic high schools. This was announced at Mass in the Church's news letter. 10 minutes later, the Parish Priest was rattling the collection plate, bemoaning all the poor and destitute Catholics in the Parish. Never gave a nickle again.

I love the USA, just not the clowns that run it and that goes for the local level all the way up to the shite show that’s going on in DC and a large amount of the killings that take place on a world wide basis probably wouldn’t happen if religion wasn’t involved. I’m not bashing religion I’m just calling like I see it.

I can’t read this article because of the paywall, but isn’t this a fake controversy? When we give money to the church, it’s not really intended for the poor. At least not the majority of it. It’s for the church so it can operate on a day to day basis. It’s not like the church charges a cover charge to get in. Our church does many other things for the poor (volunteering, food collections, etc.) outside of the usual cash donation.
