We’ve tanked the economy and put hundreds of thousands of healthy people at risk for far more serious complications than what they’d experience if they contracted Coronavirus.

Insane.

Might be behind paywall

quote:

Pediatricians say delays in immunizations for highly contagious diseases including the measles, rotavirus and whooping cough risk outbreaks of those illnesses as social-distancing orders lift.

quote:

Apart from health concerns, some families that see the value of vaccinations have canceled appoint-ments because parents lost their jobs and health insurance, pediatricians say.

quote:

The dangers of delaying or skipping immunizations stretch beyond the risk of near-term outbreaks. Vaccines for ailments such as human papillomavirus protect children from cervical, penile, anal and throat cancers longer term.

“The numbers will tell you it’s guaranteed that some American kid today is going to die in 10 to 20 years of HPV as a result of Covid,” said Chip Hart, director of pediatric solutions at PCC.

Add on the interruption of antimalarial medication supplies in Africa and tuberculosis treatment worldwide, and you'll conclude this wasn't well thought out.

Article actually mentions vaccine campaign concerns in developing countries.

Our pediatricians office isn’t doing vaccines unless under 2.

So my 4 year olds have been delayed at no choice of our own

Good job retard politicians

Another anticipated covid death for the official numbers.

Silly goof doesn’t know all he has to do is start shopping around for new kiddie doctors. Bunch of alarmist rubes!

My friend with a new baby had no issues getting in for well baby visits / shots
Wait in the car, only 1 parent, use well baby entrance (there was a different one used for kids that were sick)

Correct. The article isn’t about issues getting appointments. It’s about the insane fear that has been hyped that have parents choosing not to go to the doctor’s office for well checks as well as parents that have lost their insurance coverage and don’t currently have free wellness visits/vaccines.

They’ll likely catch up on them at some point, but some won’t get them or the delay will cause issue.

But the point of the article is that healthy people are forgoing critical preventive care. When the consequences for skipping the preventative care are statistically and medically worse than the same demographic when contracting Coronavirus.

Add another consequence of shutting the world down. If only some of us had the foresight to predict there would be massive and irreparable damage caused and innumerable trickle-down effects that likely outweigh the virus impact, at least cumulatively.

The backbone of the "shut it down" crowd's argument is that they're "saving lives". I've been telling anybody who will listen that we're condemning lives with the shut down too. The chickens are coming home to roost

You understand state guidance was that correct?

Vaccines were only deemed medically necessary for those under 2 during the shutdown. All others were to be delayed by states orders
